Is Your
Christmas Jumper
Poisoning You?

Buy natural and know you are doing
your bit for the planet.

Christmas Jumpers Cause Plastic Pollution

Hubbub found that 95% of Christmas jumpers are made of plastic. The most widely used fibre, acrylic, sheds 730,000 microfibers per wash. That is an enormous amount of plastic wastage. These tiny bits of plastic end up in the planet’s water system, entering the ocean and our drinking water.

What Can I Do?

Always check the label. It might be described as a 'wool' jumper, but is it actually made from 40% acrylic?
Does it look nice and soft, but it is actually 50% polyester?
At WoolOvers we are committed to using natural yarns.

Reducing Plastic Wastage

Christmas jumpers are one of the worst examples of fast fashion. According to the Guardian, a third of us buy a new one every year.

To reduce plastic wastage, reuse your old jumpers, buy second-hand, hold jumper swaps or create your own. If you do want a new sweater, invest in one that is made to last and is crafted from natural materials.
